of individual alumnus and the alumni association.
Vision Statement
An
organization that will make a positive impact in the lives of its members
and a positive contribution to the global community.
History of the
Alumni Association
The
Sigma Chi Omega Alumni Association was founded in Fall of 1996 by Kevin Nobuo
Nakano (Beta Class, Alpha Chapter @ UCSB). He founded the organization for three reasons:
1. To provide the alumni
with a means to keep in touch with each other, to keep in touch with the Sigma Chi Omega
Fraternity and to encourage the success and prosperity of its members.
2. To provide an
environment that supports multiculturalism and the ideals of "Mind,
Body, and Brotherhood."
3. To provide guidance
and assistance to the Sigma Chi Omega Fraternity.
He hoped that the alumni
association would grow and one day be able to leverage its resources to
help new alumni transition into the professional arena, provide student
scholarships, and sponsor educational and social events that promote the
Sigma Chi Omega name.

Sigma
Chi Omega Fraternity was founded at the University of California, Santa
Barbara, in Fall of 1993. The fraternity was started by ten men who wanted
to create a brotherhood that did not discriminate on the basis of race.
Sigma
Chi Omega Fraternity continually strives to develop the ideals of
"mind, body, brotherhood." That is, we encourage academic
excellence, physical fitness, and a sense of unity through our activities
and events.
